Maharashtra has a large number of private and deemed medical and dental colleges, especially around Pune, Mumbai and the Navi Mumbai belt. Seats in these colleges are reached through two separate counselling systems.
Who allots what
- State Common Entrance Test Cell, Maharashtra — conducts the state's NEET-UG counselling for government seats and for seats in private unaided colleges affiliated to the state health sciences university, including institutional and NRI categories as provided in the information brochure.
- MCC — conducts counselling for all seats in Maharashtra's deemed universities, including management and NRI seats.

Step-by-step with the CET Cell
- Register on the CET Cell portal for NEET-UG state counselling and pay the fee.
- Opt for the categories you qualify for, such as institutional or NRI quota, at registration.
- Upload documents and complete verification as instructed.
- Fill preferences for each round and check allotments with your own login.
- Pay fees through the official process and report within the deadline.
Fees
Fees for private unaided colleges are fixed through Maharashtra's fee regulating mechanism and published for each year. Deemed university fees come through MCC. Read how private college fees are fixed.
Practical tips
